Hey, I’m Phillip Dean, a portrait and branding photographer, and Dad :)

My work lives in the spaces between the expected and the unscripted. I believe the most powerful portraits come from those in-between moments—when a child forgets about the camera and simply shows who they are. A burst of laughter, a thoughtful stare, a messy strand of hair—these are the little truths that, when preserved, become timeless treasures.

For over two decades, I’ve been telling stories through photography. I’ve had the privilege of working with celebrities, renowned musicians, traveling the world to create art, and exhibiting my work with the artists I admire most. But none of that has shaped me the way fatherhood has. Becoming a parent changed not just my life, but my art. Photographing my daughter as she’s grown has opened my eyes to how quickly childhood passes, and how important it is to hold onto those fleeting moments.

Kids don’t perform for the camera the way adults do—they live honestly in the moment. That honesty is what inspires me. (Every portrait I create, whether it's a kid or adult), is meant to reflect their soul as they are right now: unfiltered, genuine, and beautiful in their own way.For me, a portrait is more than just a picture—it’s a story you’ll return to again and again, a memory held still, a reminder of just how precious these days really are.
